PokéPark KANTO is inside Yomiuriland, on a hill above Keio-Yomiuri-Land Station on the Keio Sagamihara Line. From Shinjuku, take the Keio Line to Keio-Yomiuri-Land (¥320 ticket / ¥314 IC). Yomiuriland says the trip takes about 35 minutes. Then ride the Sky Shuttle gondola up to the park’s Sky Gate entrance (5 to 10 minutes, ¥300 one way). Once you’re through the Yomiuriland gate, follow the signs to PokéPark KANTO.

If the gondola isn’t running, an Odakyu bus from the same station stops right at the park entrance.

Step 1: Which train to take from Shinjuku

Keio-Yomiuri-Land is on the Sagamihara Line, the Keio branch that splits off at Chofu (調布) toward Hashimoto (橋本). Keio’s station page lists the trains that stop there: Rapid (快速), Semi Express (区間急行) and Local (各駅停車). Faster trains go straight through.

  • Easy way: at Keio Shinjuku, board any train bound for Hashimoto (橋本) or Keio-Tama-Center (京王多摩センター). Check the train type on the board. If it’s a Rapid, Semi Express or Local, stay on until Keio-Yomiuri-Land.
  • If you’re on a faster train (Limited Express or Express), get off at Chofu and change to a Rapid, Semi Express or Local train toward Hashimoto. Chofu is underground and the Sagamihara Line trains leave from the same station.
  • Don’t take a train bound for Takaosanguchi (高尾山口) or Keio-Hachioji (京王八王子) past Chofu. Those stay on the main line and don’t go to Yomiuriland.

Keio’s app and its fare search on the official website show the next train with a stop at Keio-Yomiuri-Land.

Fare: ¥320 with a paper ticket, ¥314 with Suica or PASMO. A round trip costs less than the ¥1,000 Keio one-day pass. The pass only pays off if you add more stops, such as Sanrio Puroland. See the Keio one-day pass guide.

Step 2: From the ticket gate to the gondola

Yomiuriland’s English guide gives these directions:

  1. Turn left after the ticket gate.
  2. Go up the stairs in front of you.
  3. Cross at the pedestrian crossing on your left, then go up the stairs ahead.
  4. Take the stairs on the left to the gondola boarding area.

There are stairs at every stage. Keio’s station page lists an elevator in the station. If you have a stroller or a wheelchair, ask station or gondola staff about the step-free way before you set off.

From September 15 to October 31, 2026, Keio is running a PokéPark KANTO digital stamp rally. Keio-Yomiuri-Land’s stamp is Eevee. You scan a QR code on the poster, between 7:00 and 20:00. Entries are open to junior high school age and older.

Step 3: The Sky Shuttle gondola

The gondola links Keio-Yomiuri-Land Station with Yomiuriland’s Sky Gate (スカイゲート) entrance.

Yomiuriland says you can see the Giants practice ground on the way up, and Mt. Fuji on clear days. The official website has a live gondola operating status link (ゴンドラ運行状況). Check it on windy days.

The Sky Gate is also where you rent a stroller or wheelchair (¥500, limited numbers, no advance booking).

Step 4: From the Yomiuriland gate to PokéPark KANTO

Show your PokéPark KANTO ticket code at the Yomiuriland gate. Every PokéPark KANTO pass includes Yomiuriland entry, so you don’t need a separate Yomiuriland ticket. Inside, follow the signs to PokéPark KANTO.

Arrive before 10:45 if you can. The app opens sign-up for show seats and shop entry times only after you’ve passed the Yomiuriland gate, and from 10:45. The official site says Yomiuriland never opens later than PokéPark KANTO. If you’re early, wait inside Yomiuriland or at the PokéPark Entrance Plaza. The entry line isn’t covered, so bring rain gear. See the app guide.

Backup: Odakyu buses

Yomiuriland’s access page lists Odakyu buses that stop at “Yomiuriland” (よみうりランド), right by the entrance. Each costs ¥250 for adults and ¥100 for children (¥50 with an IC card).

The Odakyu options suit you if your hotel is on the Odakyu Line. Timetables are linked from Yomiuriland’s access page.

From the airports

The official PokéPark KANTO FAQ says the trip takes about 2 hours from Haneda and about 2.5 hours from Narita by public transport. Don’t bring a suitcase to the park. Suitcases and other rolling luggage aren’t allowed inside PokéPark KANTO, and the area has no luggage storage. Use Yomiuriland’s coin lockers, or better, leave big bags at your hotel.

Planning Sanrio Puroland as well? Keio-Tama-Center is further along the same Sagamihara Line, so you don’t need to go back through Shinjuku. See Sanrio Puroland and PokéPark KANTO: a two-day family trip.

Before you go

  • The park is open on your date. In October 2026, PokéPark KANTO and Yomiuriland were closed on most Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • You have a ticket. None are sold at the park. See PokéPark KANTO tickets.
  • You checked that your train stops at Keio-Yomiuri-Land, or you know to change at Chofu.
  • You checked the gondola status, with the bus as a backup.

Prices and hours change. Check the official site before you go.
