You don’t strictly need the official PokéPark KANTO app to get in. A ticket code on screen works at the gate. But the app is the only way to get limited-access tickets for three things: a Sedge Gym show seat (by lottery), an entry time for the Pokémon Daisuki Shop, and an entry time for the Pokémon Playhouse meet-and-greet (both first come, first served). You can only apply after passing through the Yomiuriland gate, and from 10:45. Install the right version before you travel, group your party’s tickets, and be in the park before 10:45.

Which version to download

There are two versions of the app (official FAQ, as of October 2026):

English versionJapanese version
ForPeople who live outside JapanResidents of Japan
Tickets it can scanTickets from the Official Web Ticket Store (the overseas site)Tickets from the Japanese official website
How to downloadApp Store or Google Play with your account’s country set to a country other than JapanJapanese store

Bought on the overseas store? Use the English app. The FAQ also says the English app works after you arrive in Japan and connect to a network in Japan. You can install it at home, but don’t expect it to work until you land. The official page lists iOS 15 or newer and Android 9 or newer. Tablets aren’t supported.

What the app does

  • Shows your ticket code at the gates.
  • Groups tickets. One person creates a group and the others join it. Group members’ tickets show in their own apps, so people can enter at different times, and the group applies for limited-access tickets together.
  • Limited-access ticket sign-up for the shop, the Playhouse and the Gym show.
  • Park map with the location of every area and attraction.

Ride tickets aren’t in the app. For Pika Pika Paradise and Vee Vee Voyage, you buy timed tickets at the mobile ticket kiosk in the Pokémon Trainers’ Market.

The three limited-access tickets

WhatHow it’s allocatedLimit
Pokémon Daisuki Shop (main merchandise shop, Entrance Plaza)First come, first servedOne sign-up per day
Pokémon Playhouse (meet-and-greet, different Pokémon each day)First come, first servedOne sign-up per day
Sedge Gym show “Pika Pika Sparks!” (seat)LotteryOne sign-up per day per show

Applying is free. Once you’ve applied, you can’t cancel or change the request, and you can’t change the time slot once it’s confirmed. Check the result under My Tickets → Ticket Details.

Ace Trainer’s Pass holders already have one reserved Gym show seat. For any further show they apply like everyone else.

The timing: 10:45 and the Yomiuriland gate

  1. Enter Yomiuriland. Your PokéPark KANTO ticket gets you in. The app only lets you apply once your ticket has been used at the Yomiuriland gate.
  2. From 10:45, open the app and apply. The official site warns there may be a delay after the gate before sign-up works.
  3. Apply for the scarce things first. The shop and the Playhouse are first come, first served. The Gym show is a lottery, one entry per show.
  4. Wait in Yomiuriland or the PokéPark Entrance Plaza if PokéPark KANTO isn’t open yet. Yomiuriland never opens later than PokéPark KANTO.

Groups: one member can’t apply for others who haven’t entered yet. The FAQ is clear that only tickets that have passed the Yomiuriland gate count. Arrive together.

The official site notes that times may change. It also says that, depending on crowds, some areas may let people in without a limited-access ticket.

Gym show times (October 2026)

The show runs about 25 minutes. From October 2026 the official schedule lists:

Show startsGym opens
12:4512:25
14:0013:40
16:3016:10
17:4517:25

If your party doesn’t group tickets, Trainer’s Pass and Town Pass holders may be seated apart. See PokéPark KANTO shows and parade for the outdoor parade, which needs no ticket.

Mistakes to avoid

Don’t uninstall the app or clear its cache after scanning your ticket. The official app page says the ticket is then lost and can’t be scanned again. It has seen the cache clear on unstable networks on some phones. Use the park’s free Wi-Fi when you scan your ticket.

  • Ace Trainer’s Passes can’t be grouped or shared. A family with mixed passes can’t apply for show seats as one group.
  • Members can’t remove other members. They can only leave or disband the group, and not after a ticket has been used. Set the group up carefully before the day.
  • Battery. Your ticket, sign-up and map are all on your phone. Battery rental is available near the prayer room by the Pokémon Daisuki Shop (official FAQ).
  • Data. You need a connection in Japan for the English app. See travel prep for a Tama trip for mobile data options.

A simple app plan for the day

  1. Before the trip: buy tickets and install the English app. Have one person create the group and everyone join.
  2. Morning: be through the Yomiuriland gate before 10:45. See getting there from Shinjuku.
  3. 10:45: apply for the Daisuki Shop and the Playhouse, then the Gym show lottery.
  4. Forest: go at your Trainer’s Pass time slot. Your limited-access times then fit around it.
  5. Afternoon: watch the parade in Sedge Town and buy ride tickets at the kiosk.

Prices and hours change. Check the official site before you go.
