Sanrio Puroland Hours, Closed Days and the Best Time to Visit

Sanrio Puroland has no fixed opening hours. They change by date. In October and November 2026 the park opens at 8:30 to 18:00 on weekends and holidays and usually 9:30 to 17:00 on quieter weekdays. In December it opens at 10:00. The park also closes on some weekdays, usually a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and these dates are not the same every week. Always check the official schedule for your exact date.

For a quieter visit, choose a Tuesday to Thursday outside school holidays. Puroland charges less on those days, which is a good sign it expects fewer visitors.

Puroland notes that hours may change. The schedule page shows each day’s times. It is in Japanese, but the times are easy to read, and 休館日 means “closed”.

Closed days usually come in midweek clusters. If your Tokyo itinerary is fixed, check this first. Plenty of travelers plan a Wednesday trip and find the park closed.

Ticket counter and entry times

• The ticket counter opens 30 minutes before the park opens and stops selling 90 minutes before closing.
• The Afternoon Passport lets you in from 14:00 at a lower price. On a 9:30–17:00 day that gives you three hours. On an 8:30–18:00 day it gives you four.
• The free visit reservation, which you need as well as a ticket, can be made on the day if there is space, until 90 minutes before closing. Puroland adds extra same-day slots around opening time.

What price tells you about crowds

Puroland sets a different price for each date. The official calendar for October to December 2026 shows adult Day Passports (counter price) like this:

Puroland does not publish crowd forecasts, so this is our reading of the calendar: a higher price usually means the park expects more people. To find a quiet day, look for the lowest price in the calendar for your travel dates. Prices for January 2027 had not been published when we checked.

The best time of day

• Arriving at opening gives you the most time and the welcome greeting, when characters come out in Puro Village from opening time. On weekends and holidays the park opens at 8:30, so leave Shinjuku (新宿) around 7:45 to 8:00 (the Keio Limited Express takes about 30 minutes, then a 5-minute walk). • Arriving after 14:00 with an Afternoon Passport is a good budget option if you mainly want a show and the parade.
• Shows and the parade run at set times. The official show schedule only goes about two weeks ahead, so plan your day around it once it is published.

Because Puroland is fully indoors, rain does not stop anything. A rainy weekday can actually be a good choice.
